LED Strip Lights: A Great Way To Enhance Your Home’s Interior

You cannot mention the rise of the LED technology, without also mentioning LED strip lights. The nimble and flexible strips of light have some of the responsibility, in creating a greater demand of LED lighting. LED strip lights made it possible to illuminate stuff and places, where it was previously impossible or seriously complicated. Today, it is all plug-and-play.

LED Strip Lights

Do not worry - this blog post will not be a sole praising of LED strips. We will also give you some tips and things to consider, when you are out to buy the popular LED strips. You might need those tips, as the market of LED strips is becoming increasingly saturated. It is possible to buy several metres of LED light strips for practically nothing – but the quality will also be poor if not non-existent. This blog post will only elaborate on proper quality LED strips. If you are buying the cheapest strips on the market, you need no guide, as you do not know what you get. Paying just a little more gets you pretty far up the quality-ladder, of which we will explain.

You probably already know what length of LED strips you need, when purchasing lighting for the lighting to your project. But do you also know how many LEDs per meter you need? If the LEDs are placed too far from each other on the strip, it will give a spotty lighting, instead of a smooth and clean line of light. Therefore, look after many LEDs per meter. You also need to consider how bright your strips should be. Most strips are used with a mere decorative purpose, and for that reason, LED strip lights are rarely very bright.

Though, it is possible to purchase bright LED working light strips – and they are of no use to a decorative purpose. The colour temperature is also very important to look after. Not only should it preferably match the other lighting in the room or area, it will also have a direct impact on the atmosphere. Stay between 2700K and 3500K if you want warm and cosy strip lights.

LED Lighting - The Future of Energy Efficient Lighting

The LED technology has advanced significantly over the past years, resulting in drastically improved lighting quality when compared to older technologies like the incandescent bulbs or the fluorescent tubes. While the lighting quality is improved, the LED technology is using considerably less energy.  And lets stay with the low energy use for a while. LED bulbs can, compared to the traditional light sources, result in an 80 % reduction in energy use. This drastic reduction does not only look good on your next energy bill, but does indeed look good in terms of less pollution and making the earth greener – bulb by bulb. The drastic energy reduction does also make the payback of the LED product quick while decreasing the long-term energy cost, which makes the LED technology desirable for large industries.
